Hi, I’m Kathy Bowles, owner of Mission Business Services. I have more than 25 years of experience in payroll, accounting, and business administration, working with businesses of all sizes. I help small business owners with payroll, bookkeeping, and virtual business support, handling the details that keep their businesses running smoothly.
I live in Fairfax, Virginia, with my husband, Gerry, and our cat, Touki.
Here’s my story:
I have spent most of my adult life working in corporate America. My career began with temporary staffing companies and banking, and in October 2000, I entered the government contracting world as a payroll administrator.
Over the years, I built a career in payroll and accounting, developing the knowledge and experience that can only come from doing the work day after day. I learned different systems, worked with different organizations, and adapted to the many changes that come with corporate life.
In February 2012, I joined MCR, where I spent more than ten years. When the company was sold in June 2022, another chapter of my career ended. Over the next few years, I continued working with various government contractors and expanding my experience.
After more than 25 years in the corporate world, I realized it was time to take everything I had learned and use it to build something of my own.
I have always enjoyed the behind-the-scenes work that keeps a business running—making sure people are paid correctly, records are accurate, details aren’t overlooked, and things get done. I realized those same skills could make a real difference for small business owners who are trying to do everything themselves.
That’s why I created Mission Business Services. I decided to use my God-given talents, knowledge, and experience to help small business owners pursue the dreams they have worked so hard to build.
Today, my mission is simple: provide dependable payroll, bookkeeping, and virtual business support so my clients can spend less time worrying about the details and more time doing what they love—growing their businesses and making their dreams a reality.
